The District VI board members of the Garden Clubs of Alabama met on August 21 at Priester’s Pecans in Fort Deposit to make plans for the Annual District VI Meeting, planned for Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the Luverne United Methodist Church.

Nine were in perfect attendance: Judy Manning, Mary Long, Linda Bland, Carolyn Gray, Delyn Rouze, Pam Hattemer and Mary Holliday.

Items to be used for the Fall District Meeting raffle were on display, including a framed butterfly picture, a set of six china hydrangea salad plates and a topaz butterfly pin.

Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.

Tickets can be obtained from any garden club member.

The board voted to purchase a “By Way” marker, dedicated to the veterans for the welcome center in Wetumpka.

A wonderful meal was enjoyed after the meeting.
