GPD plans shooting competition

Greenville Police Department’s tactical team and Safe Harbor, the Children’s Advocacy Center, are planning a Steel Challenge Pistol Competition as a joint fundraiser.
Lt. Justin Lovvorn, Special Response Team leader, said law enforcement from both inside and around Butler County will be invited to participate in the competition. He said the event will be open to the public and will be held at the GPD’s firing range on U.S. 31.
It is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16.
There are three levels of sponsorships available, said Lovvorn, and each allows local businesses or individual donors the opportunity to participate in a special “sponsor shoot” competition. Sponsorship levels include:
$1,000: Pistol Competition Main Sponsor
– Announcement of business at the opening of the competition.
– Advertising at registration area.
– Two slots for sponsor shoot.
– Two free pistol competition t-shirts.
– Donation is tax deductible.
$500: Pistol Competition Preferred Sponsor
– Announcement of business at the opening of competition.
– Advertising at registration area.
– Two slots for the sponsor shoot.
– Two free pistol competition t-shirts.
– Donation is tax deductible.
$200: Individual Event Sponsor
– Announcement of business at the beginning of selected competition event.
– One slot for sponsor shoot.
– One free pistol competition t-shirt.
– Donation is tax deductible.
Lovvorn said all donations and sponsorships will go directly to Safe Harbor and the police department’s SRT team.
