Sheriff seeks suspect in VFD burglary
Sheriff Kenny Harden is seeking help in locating the suspects that broke into Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department between the late evening hours of Thursday, July 23 and early morning Friday, July 24.
Harden said the suspects made off with a generator, TV and DVD player, plus a number of food items and drinks. The items were valued at $1,750.
Harden said the suspects pulled open the tin in back of the building to gain entrance.
The suspects also stole copper tubing from gas tanks that service chicken houses behind the building.
“This a volunteer fire department that has to struggle and get out and work for its money so this hits them hard,” said Harden.
Anyone with information about the crime can call the Butler County Sheriff’s Office at 382-6521. – From Staff Reports
