Troopers I.D. man shot on I-65
State law enforcement has identified the man killed during an incident on I-65 involving Alabama State Troopers as 59-year-old John
McCullough, of Bay Minette.
Funeral services for McCullough were held on Monday. He is survived by his wife, Rosanne McCullough of Bay Minette; sons and daughters-in-law, John Calin and Kelly McCullough of McKenzie and William Ryan and Sonia McCullough of Grady, and six grandchildren.
Law enforcement stopped McCullough on Thursday after a 10-mile chase on I-65, said officials, and when a trooper approached the vehicle,
McCullough accelerated, knocking the trooper to the ground.
Troopers opened fire on the vehicle, killing McCullough, said Trooper John Reese, public information officer.
