Jones earns scholarship to Yale
Brice Channing Jones, son of Brad Jones and stepson of Kathy Jones of Greenville, was recently accepted to and will attend Yale University starting in the fall of 2009.
Jones is currently a senior at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn., and is scheduled to graduate in August with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical studies, with a minor in Greek. He completed his undergraduate work with a 4.0 GPA. He is the second student in the history of Lee University to be accepted and will attend Yale. Jones will seek a Master of Arts degree in religion, with a concentration in New Testament and Biblical languages. Out of 2,300 applicants, he is one of just 20 to be accepted for this degree, and only one of three to be accepted as a full scholarship student. He was also accepted to Emory University and Vanderbilt University for graduate studies.
His goal is to complete his doctorate and a hold a deanship post at a university or seminary setting, teaching Greek, Hebrew and other Biblical languages.
