Another musical fundraiser filled with show-stopping numbers is coming to Greenville’s Ritz Theatre April 23, 24 and 25.

“Shine,” the third annual community theater effort by the Ritz Players, will feature numbers from Broadway hits “Chicago,” “The Wiz,” “Wicked,” along with Motown classics and The Wizard of Oz.

Dozens from across the community will dance, sing and perform in the live orchestra and play roles behind the scenes, crafting costumes and creating props.

“It’s a tremendous undertaking by a cross-section of our community, and such fun to see the people we work with and go to school with each day on stage,” said director Nancy Idland.

“Shine” will benefit the Greenville Area Arts Council (GAAC), to help defray its production costs. The GAAC brings three to four professional shows, including touring companies of Broadway musicals, orchestras. chorales and even live television tapings, to the Ritz each year for hometown audiences to enjoy.

Advance tickets are available at The Pineapple downtown and Grayson’s of Greenville on Fort Dale Road.

They can also be pre-ordered by downloading a form at www-gaac-ritz.com. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students.

Sponsorships are also available to help add “Glitz to the Ritz.”

Principal sponsorships, including six performance tickets, are $1,000; benefactor (four tickets) $500 – 999; contributing producer (two tickets) $250-499; contributing director, $100 – 249; contributing actor, $25-99 and Ritz Players Fan Club, $10.
