Jury hands down 100 indictments

A Butler County Grand Jury formally charged 100 individuals when it convened on Monday, including multiple suspects arrested during a citywide drug raid by Greenville police in February.

According to Cpl. Byron Russell of the Greenville Police Department’s Narcotics Division, the Feb. 27 raid targeted suspected drug dealers in the city of Greenville.

Persons arrested by the GPD during the sting and their charges, include:

– Tony Lamar Lewis, possession of marijuana, 1st degree.

– Terry Jones, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

– Ralph Jones, two counts unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

– Rosie Lee Patton, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

– Christopher Ainsworth, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

– Cynthia Crenshaw, two counts unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

– Alicia Michelle Longmire, two counts unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

– Brian Armstrong, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

– Tyronda Bowen, conspiracy to commit unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, one count unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

– Daniel Longmire, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

– Corey Cannon, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

– Cruize Murray, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

The arrests were the result of six-months of investigation by the GPD’s narcotics division.

Arraignment for those charged will be on March 27 at 9 a.m. in the Butler County Courthouse.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
