An up-and-coming Montgomery-based rock band is performing this Saturday night, January 24 at the Front Street Pub in Greenville.

Chromeheart is scheduled to perform from 9 p.m. until.

A five-man band, Chromeheart has been described as “a group of talented musicians with an interesting mix of heavy riffs and melodic vocals. Keep an eye out for these guys because big things are ahead.” (Friday Night Meltdown, 95-9/104.9 The Tiger)

Rhythm guitarist Chris Weidman, a Hoover native and bassist Mike Cuenco, formerly of Germany, Italy, England and Los Angeles, co-founded the band. Joining them are Montgomery native Drew Lankford, guitarist, lead singer Joshua Hodge and drummer Alex Staton.

Influences from jazz, Christian rock, punk rock, and pure rock all are a part of the band’s sound.

“We are an original band that will play covers to pay for recording and to produce funds that will help spread our original music,” explains Weidman.

Bands covered by Chromeheart include Foo Fighters, Seether, Weezer, Godsmack, Metallica, Three Days Grace, Guns n’ Roses, Switchfoot, Daughtry, Nickelback and several more.

Their original songs include “Blank Stare,” “Step Back,” “Sleepless,” “My Whirlwind,” and “Blue Nakedness.”

The group was recently invited to Stone Mountain, Ga., to work with noted record producer Rick Beato.

“Rick produced the first Shinedown album that went platinum and has produced and written songs for hard rock bands such as Shinedown, Dark New Day, Bullet for My Valentine and Jump Little Children,” Weidman said.

“Rick thinks our music has something and he wanted to try to sharpen up our songs and see what happened. Our EP titled ‘Glance’ will be out January 31 and will include three songs done with Rick.”
