Butler County school officials are still facing a budget shortfall of a little over $300,000 due to prorated funding from the state. Superintendent Mike Looney released a complete budget worksheet to The Advocate on Monday.
Board of Education members cut almost $600,000 in funding during a meeting last Thursday. Additionally, administrative reductions amounted to approximately $150,000, according to BOE data. A transfer of $595,521 from the school system’s reserve funds will help offset the need to prorate the entire $1.8 million loss in state funding.
$332,643.32 in cuts is still needed and Looney has indicated it could come in the form of personnel.
