Butler County remains under a tornado watch as heavy thundershowers move through parts of central Alabama.
The watch is expected to retire at 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for a tornado to develop. Residents are advised to keep indoors. Tornadoes can form suddenly.
Chance of rain is 90 percent today, with possible strong thundershowers throughout the day. The temperature is currently 68 degrees, but temperatures are expected to dip into the mid-40s by this afternoon as a cold front makes its way into Alabama.
