Elie E. (Gene) Snowden, age 69, formerly a resident of Greenville, left his loved ones and went to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2008. Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Jeffcoat-Linville Funeral Home, Tallassee, from 5 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, December 3, at Magnolia Cemetery, Greenville with Pastor Rick Dorley officiating and Jeffcoat-Linville Funeral Home directing. Mr. Snowden is preceded in death by his father and mother, Clarence F. Snowden Sr. and Myra B. Snowden of Greenville and one infant brother who died at birth. He is survived by his son, Steven E. Snowden Beasley (Katie); two grandchildren, Victoria F. Beasley and Ashley Navarre (Stephen); three great-grandchildren, Kensley, Karley and Tony Ray Navarre of Tallassee; two brothers, Clarence F. Snowden, Jr. (Betty) of Montgomery and Thomas W. Snowden (Betty) of Millbrook and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Snowden was retired from the Alabama State Highway Department and was a gifted artist, avid fisherman and hunter.
