An annual event brimming with sights, sounds, and flavors of the holidays is returning to Georgiana next weekend.
The Three Arts Club of Georgiana and Chapman will once again host their Christmas Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rose Memorial Library in downtown Georgiana.
Festive décor items for mantle, door and table will be offered, along with an array of ornaments adorning the library’s Christmas tree.
“We also have little girls’ smocked dresses, hand-crocheted shawls, lap robes, embroidered pillowcases, hand-crafted bird houses, Christmas signs and much more,” says club member Becky Manning.
Along with lots of arts of crafts, many edible delights will also be offered at the bazaar, Manning says.
“There will be all sorts of cakes, from pound cakes, to coconut, orange date nut and Italian cream; pies, including sweet potato, chocolate and coconut; also, fudge, divinity, fruitcake cookies, homemade breads, cheese balls, dips and, cheese straws, preserves and pickles,” Manning promises.
The group’s famous $5 boxed lunches are already going like hotcakes. As of Tuesday, 300 of the lunches had been pre-sold for pick-up next Saturday.
Bazaar attendees can also visit with Santa and browse among the event’s popular White Elephant Sale, “which always offer some really great buys,” Manning says.
“We are looking forward to another wonderful event and hope lots of folks will come out and support us.”
Funds raised by the Three Arts Club are used for college scholarships for young women in the county.
