Mildred Newton Mixon, 84, a resident of Greenville, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008 in an Arkansas hospital.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 3 p.m. in Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Patton officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.
The family requests all memorials be given to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 212 Fort Dale Road, Greenville, AL 36037.
Pallbearers will be: Greg Newton, Tom Newton, Gary Harrison, Jeff Harrison, Eddie Newton and David Prickett. Mrs. Mixon was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Mixon; parents, Arthur and Ethel Newton and one brother, James E. Newton Sr. Survivors include: two sons, John R. (Annetta Ravn) Mixon Jr. of Manhattan, Kansas, Robert Newton (Tammy Prickett) Mixon of Greenville; four grandchildren, Michael, Martin, Evan and Ryleigh Mixon; two sisters, Maude Sims and JoAnn Harrison (Raymond) and one brother, T.A. Newton (Pat), all of Greenville, a sister-in-law, Elna Newton of Montgonery, and several nieces and nephews.
