At Boys State and Girls State, participants learn the rights, privileges and responsibilities of American citizens. The training is objective and centers on the structure of city, county and state governments.

Operated by the students elected to various offices, activities include legislative sessions, court proceedings, law enforcement presentations, assemblies and recreational programs.

The Greenville Auxiliary presented each student with a $50 check to cover travel cost, which was supplemented by a $100 contribution from the Greenville Kiwanis Club.
