Mrs. Mary Hawkins Handley, 88, a resident of Luverne, died Sun., Jan. 11, 2015, after a brief illness.  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wed., Jan. 14, 2015 at the Luverne First Baptist Church with the Rev. Donnie Burns as the officiant. Interment followed in the Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Handley was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Boyd Handley, Sr.; a son, William Nix Handley; her parents, Nix and Temple Hawkins; and a brother, Bill Hawkins.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Boyd and Carey Handley; two grandchildren, Ford  (Lauren) Handley and Caytlin Handley; and a brother, Dr. Doug (Dean) Hawkins.

Active pallbearers were Larry Smith, Bubba James Seawright, Walter Folmar, Billy McSwean, Jim Williamson and Steve Lester.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial donations may be made to the Luverne First Baptist Church or to the Luverne Emmaus Cemetery Fund.
