Edith Marie Brown

 

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Edith Marie Brown will be held on

Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. from Braggs Hill AME Zion

Church. Rev. Ellis Bandy, officiating minister. Burial will follow in the

churchyard cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services, Greenville, Alabama

directing.

Edith Marie Brown was born Jan. 5, 1945 to Henry (Sadie) Scott Sr., in

Forest Home, Alabama. She is the second of five sibling.

On the morning of December 11, 2014 GOD called Edith Marie Brown to a

state of rest. She served “faithfully” in minstry at Bragg Hill AME Zion

as Missionary President, Sunday School Treasurer, Member of Deaconess

Board, and the Choir, all under the leadership of Rev. Ellis Bandy. Edith

was employed as a Home Health Aide where she both assisted to the care and needs of the elderly at any time needed. She was preceded in death by three children, Melvin Brown, Linda Brown and Roy Brown, and two sisters,Vietta Adams, and Mildred Scott. Her love, joy, and heavenly presence will forever be missed but reign in the hearts of those she knew. She was the wife of L.J. Brown, Sr., Greenville, AL; Edith bore nine children whom she leaves behind, L.J. Brown, Jr., Florida, Curtis Brown, Belle Glade, FL; Tyrone Brown, Arlington, TX; Victoria Ervin, Union City, GA; Lawanda Ervin, Michelle Pittman both of Stockbridge, GA; two brothers, Henry Scott Jr., Warren, OH; Richard (Laverne) Scott, Chicago, IL; sister, Katie Washington, Chicago, IL; Edith has a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

Michale Sanderson Coleman

Mr. Michale “Mickey” Sanderson Coleman, Sr., 76, a resident of Greenville, AL, died Wednesday, December 17, 2017, at L. V. Stabler Hospital in Greenville, AL.

Mickey is survived by his wife: Dorothy R. Coleman of Greenville, AL, daughters: Laurie Shannon Coleman of Dothan, AL, Melanie Coleman Nirschl of Madison, AL, son: Michael S. (Susan B.) Coleman, Jr. of Greenville, AL, and other relatives.

The family will have private memorial services at a later date.

 

David L. Scott

 

Funeral services for the late Mr. David L. Scott were held on Monday,

December 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Hudson Funeral Services.

Rev. Nicholas Scott officiated. Burial followed in the Magmol. Mr. David Lee Scott was born June 4, 1931 in Conecuh County to the late Rev. John D. Scott and late Susie Williams Scott. After the death of his mother when he was very young his father met and married the late Pearlie Mae Baugh (mother) Scott, whose love took him from a small child and raised him as her own.

He was a member of the Pine level Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville where he accepted Christ at an early age.

He met and married Dorothy Mae Harris and to this union 7 children was born. He started working as a young youth in 1949 at W. T. Smith, later renamed Union Camp, then International Papers. He later returned to school and received his High School Diploma, followed by a college degree in Auto Mechanic and Engineering. He worked his way up to  boiler room Engineer. He retired after 47 years in 1996. He also obtained his notary license in spring of 1989. His health began to fail in 2013.

He was preceded in Death by his wife Dorothy; son, Charlie Earl Scott;

daughter, Sharon Rene Scott and brother, Oscar Scott.

He leaves to Cherish his memory, 3 Daughters: Jimmie S. Still, Georgiana,

Al; Phyllis (Curtis) Washington, Wetumpka, AL; Barbara Scott,

Montgomery, Al; 2 sons: Curtis D. (Sandra) Scott, Georgiana, Al; Dale L

(LaShonda) Scott, Jacksonville, Fla.  1 sister: Jennie Mae Sanford,

Indianapolis, In.; 1 daughter-in-law, Debra Scott, Georgiana, Al.; 1 aunt,

Ethel Mae Scott, Greenville, Al.; 1 brother-in –law, Cecil Harris, Niagara

Falls, NY.; 26 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 1 great-great

grandchild. He also leaves a very caring and loving daughter-in-law, Vivian Scott.

 

Frances Watts

 

Frances Watts, 87, a resident of Evergreen, Alabama passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014.

Celebration of life will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Leffion Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Leffion Baptist Church Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home, Georgiana, Alabama directing arrangements. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 1:30 p.m. until service time. Survivors: Brother: Kenneth (Mary Lou) Brewton, Letohatchee, Alabama; two stepchildren, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
