James Monroe Palmer, 78, a resident of Forest Home, Ala., died on March 21 at his residence.  The family will hold private graveside services at a later date. Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Palmer.  He is survived by his daughter, Tamara Porter of Marietta, Ga.; son, Bryan Palmer of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Fay Johnson of Melbourne, Fla.; three grandchildren, Rachel Porter, Alexander Porter and Camilla Palmer; and a number of nieces and nephews.
