Kenderius Raishawn Boggan, Jr., a proud Greenville native and lifelong resident of District 5, has officially announced his candidacy for the Greenville City Council. At 25 years old, Boggan brings a fresh perspective, strong values and a deep commitment to serving the people of his community.
Born on July 22, 1999, and a graduate of Greenville High School, Boggan furthered his education at Jefferson State Community College, where he earned his degree in Funeral Service Education. With roots deeply planted in Greenville, he said he is determined to use his voice and leadership to bring positive change to District 5.
“As someone who grew up in this community, I understand the hopes, the struggles, and the potential of our people,” Boggan said. “I’m running for City Council because I believe District 5 deserves thoughtful leadership, true transparency, and a strong voice at City Hall. I’m ready to listen, serve, and work for a better future.”
Boggan’s campaign is built on clear priorities that reflect the concerns and needs of the people he hopes to represent. His focus includes:
- Listening to every citizen’s concerns in District 5;
- Advocating for residents’ needs and priorities;
- Enhancing public safety in all neighborhoods;
- Improving infrastructure across the district;
- Collaborating with city staff to get things done;
- Promoting transparency and accountability in decision-making;
- Focusing on community improvements that benefit everyone;
- Building strong partnerships with schools, churches and local organizations.
- Being visible and engaged in the community.
- Supporting youth engagement by working with the Mayor and City Council to create more opportunities for children; and
- Leading by example — upholding ethics, honesty, and integrity.
Boggan said he believes that real leadership means showing up, listening carefully and working hard every day to make life better for the people you represent.
“I’m not here to make promises I can’t keep. I’m here to be present, to be honest, and to be accountable to the people who trust me with their vote,” he said.
As Election Day approaches, Kenderius Boggan encourages residents of District 5 to get involved, share their thoughts and join him in shaping a stronger, more united Greenville.
