Albert Scott VanCor, born Oct. 5, 1964 in Wetumpka, took the checkered flag in his earthly race on Monday, June 23. Scott is now standing in the winner’s circle on streets paved in gold, where he is surrounded by some of his biggest fans and his No. 1 leading lady.
Scott was a loved daddy/ poppy/ great grandpoppy, brother, friend and confidant to many.
Scott is preceded in death by: wife, Sherry Waller VanCor; son, Albert Scott VanCor, II; father, Richard Howard VanCor, Sr.; mother, Eva Swan Maraman; brother, Richard Howard VanCor, Jr. and sister, Trey Christian Turner.
Scott is survived by: daughters, Rachel VanCor (Junior), Crystle Trammell (Courtney), Kayla Tolbert (Billy) and Michelle Styron (Nicole); son, Jameson VanCor (Denise); dad, William Vanderline Turner; brothers, Raymond Alton VanCor, William Patrick VanCor and Clay Coburn Turner; sisters, Dana VanCor Thomas and Brooke Turner Haney; grandchildren, Eric (Abbie), Stephen (Arwen), Gabriel, MaKayla, Eli, Jemma, Oberon, Ares, Memphis, Jocelyn, Sadie, Abigail, Randall, Jayden and Chloe and, great-grandchild, Cadence.
Visitation (2 p.m.) and services (3 p.m.) were held at Dunklin Funeral Home, 812 West Commerce St., Greenville, on Saturday, June 28. Graveside services followed at Liberty Baptist Church, 37 Liberty Church Road, Greenville.
