Melba Jean Schofield, 90, of Greenville, passed away on Monday, June 16, at her home following an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Butler County. Melba was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family. She loved cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Melba especially enjoyed her grand and great-grandchildren and spoiled them every chance she could.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Eulie Bloodsworth and Herman John Schofield; children, Edgar Newton Bloodsworth, Alton Earl Bloodsworth, Jessie Marie Bloodsworth, Herman Jr Schofield and Donnie Ray Schofield and son-in-law, David Boggan.

She is survived by her children, Mary Elizabeth Yates, Phillip Eule (Judy) Bloodsworth, Sarah Catherine (Jack) Owens, Donnie Faye Boggan, Allen Wayne and Charmain Schofield, James Thomas (Luann) Schofield, John Robert Schofield, Calvin Edward (Sandra) Schofield and Tim Shane (Sharon) Boutwell, daughters-in-law, Faye Bloodsworth and Tracey Bloodsworth, numerous brothers and sisters, as well as, countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 20, at Buckaloo Pentecostal Holiness Church with Bro. Ricky Crysell officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Buckaloo Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 19, 2025 in the chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home from 6 – 8 p.m.
