Karen K. Johnson, age 79, of Greenville, passed away on June 16 at her home.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday, June 21 beginning at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Greenville with Reverend John Girdley officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10 a.m. until service time.

Karen is survived by her husband of 58 years, Butch Johnson, son William Johnson/wife Laurie Johnson, grandchildren Watts, Ellis and Ann Carlton Johnson. 

Karen dedicated 32 years of her life to teaching math, touching countless young lives with her warmth, wisdom and unwavering belief in the power of education. Outside the classroom, she was a devoted volunteer with First Baptist Church of Greenville, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school classes, served on the Bereavement Committee, generously giving her time, heart, and talents to support the church and its community. 

Karen never met a stranger. She had a remarkable gift for storytelling, a sharp and delightful wit, and a welcoming spirit that made everyone feel at home. She loved traveling, working in her yard, and spending time with friends and family.
