The Greenville Fire Department recognized six of its own during a promotion ceremony held June 4, honoring the hard work, commitment and continued professional development of local firefighters. Fire Chief Douglas Belletete praised the group, saying, “It’s a great accomplishment. It takes time, education, certifications and grades so this really shows their enormous dedication not only to themselves but to the fire department and the city.” 

Both Chris and Ethan Hilliard were each promoted from Sergeant to Captain during the ceremony. Shane Boone, Hugh Dollar, Matthew Gunner and Devon Middleton also earned promotions, advancing from firefighter to Sergeant.
