Mr. Joshua Alexander Hasty, 21, a resident of Greenville passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 10. The funeral service will be Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home with Brother Herbert Brown officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing. Joshua graduated from Greenville High School in 2022. While in high school, he also completed College Career Ready and Smart Work Ethics programs.
He lived his entire life in the Central/Mt Zion area. Joshua loved to drive his truck and ATV in the country on the dirt roads. He would ride the back roads and visit with his family and neighbors, sometimes planning an impromptu party inviting everyone to come over for drinks and eats. Part of his party planning was a result of the fact that he loved his chainsaw and loved to cut firewood. He loved to build big bonfires for these parties.
A fondness for the water, Joshua enjoyed going to the Alabama River. He would boat ride with his grandparents and fish for hours with his grandpa.
Joshua collected knives. He had an extensive collection of daggers, hunting knives, swords, hatchets and even machetes. He also had a knack for working with scrap metal and kept a pile in the backyard.
Some of Joshua’s favorite foods included chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, loaded fries from Zaxby’s and gas station pizza (Hunt Bros).
In his short life, Joshua was a treasure to all that knew him. He was a good son, a good brother, and a good grandson. He helped his family and neighbors whenever he could.
Joshua is survived by his mother, Emily Faye Mullins; his brother, Zachary Axel Mullins; nephew, Triston Cole Roebuck; maternal grandmother, Alice Faye Mullins; paternal grandfather, Ronnie Lee Hasty, uncles, Jerry Hickman Mullins, Jr. (Karen) and Samuel Aaron Mullins (Susan); cousins, Brady Mullins, Mia Peroni, Heather Prater and Joey Smith. Joshua was also blessed with a large extended family on both sides.
