Mr. Robert David Luman, Jr., 81, passed away Friday, June 13, at Baptist South in Montgomery.

He was born in Seabring, Florida, and resided in the Industry Community of Georgiana. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery. He attended Auburn University, where he studied Electrical Engineering, and worked as an electric technician. He was an avid amateur radio operator and co-founder of the Jim Bell Wireless Association. For many years, he was active with the FIWA Fire Department. He served 22 years as the director of the Butler County Emergency Management Agency.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Major Robert D. Luman, Sr. and Virginia Welch Luman.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Linda Whittle Luman; nieces Bonnie Whittle Staley and Carla Whittle; great niece Olivia Green; great nephews Ian Goth, Connor Goth, Jack Green and Dawson Goth and several cousins.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, beginning at 2 p.m. at Industry Church of Christ with Johnson Funeral Home directing.
