Board denies Chad Stinson parole

The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles recently denied the parole petition of an inmate serving time for drug-related crimes in Butler County.
On May 20, the board voted to deny parole to Chad Larkin Stinson, 44. He is housed at the Fountain Correctional Center, serving an eight-year sentence for distributing a controlled substance and second-degree theft of property handed down March 2021 in Butler County.
The board voted to deny Smith parole, setting his next hearing date in May 2026.
Stinson is also serving concurrent 60- and 72-month sentences for possessing/receiving controlled substances in Covington County.
The board held 16 parole hearings on May 20, granting four, denying 12 and continuing one. The board also held 11 hearings on pardon requests, granting eight and denying three.
