Horace Edwin (Eddie) Dunn, Age 71, of Greenville departed his earthly life on June 2 following an extended illness.
He was born on May 11, 1954, to Horace and Ernestine Dunn. He graduated from Lyeffion High School in 1972. He earned an Associate of Science degree from Jefferson Davis State Junior College in 1976 and an Associate of Science degree in Nursing from Jefferson Davis State Junior College in 1978. He loved his nursing career which took him from Med-Surg to Emergency Room/Trauma to Operating Room nursing which he came to love. He worked as a Surgical Services Manager at RMCCA until July 2023. When he wasn’t working, in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family, as well as watching NASCAR and Alabama Crimson Tide Football.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Ernestine Dunn; sister Margaret Pugh and mother and father-in-law, Dale and Rena Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Dunn; children, Jeff (Sarah) Dunn of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Kristen (Heath) Dorning of Athens, Logan Hornsby (Jasmine Roberts), Landon Dunn and Ashlyn Grace Dunn all of Greenville; grandchildren, Ethan Dunn, Evan Dunn, Jayden Dorning, Hudson Dorning and Ellie Grace Dunn; great-grandchild, Greyson Dunn; sisters, Jeanne (John) Smith of Theodore and Betty (Larry-deceased) Brantly of Evergreen; brother, Steve (Melinda) Dunn of Evergreen; sister-in-law, Delane Ward of Greenville and multiple nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sunday, June 8 in the chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home. The family accepted visitors at 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. Burial followed at Sunrise Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Ethan Dunn, Evan Dunn, Tim Dickey, Docket Stevens, Hardy Royal and Dr. Danny Hood along with Dr. Norman McGowin as honorary pallbearer.
