Reid State awards more than 250 credentials

More than 260 career-ready credentials were awarded to 204 Reid State Technical College graduates during the college’s Spring commencement ceremony on Friday, May 9.
Students were celebrated during a graduation ceremony held at Evergreen Municipal Gymnasium. Retired Chief Justice Sue Bell Cobb, an Evergreen native, delivered the graduation address to those in attendance. More than 50 students participated in the ceremony. Several of the students earned multiple credentials, including short-term certificates, long-term certificates, and associate degrees.
In addition to the keynote address from Judge Cobb, the event also included musical accompaniments by Tony Taylor and a special song by Pastor Trenton M. Pressley. The Rev. Dr. John Williams delivered an invocation and benediction, and Derrick Lett, Reid State Director of Career Technical Education and welding instructor, led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The 2025 Reid State commencement recognized those students who completed a degree in the college’s program offering. These courses of study include Business Administration/Technology, Childcare Development, Cosmetology, Computer Information Science, Cosmetology Instructor Training, Diesel Technology/Engine Specialist, General Education, Health Sciences, Industrial Electricity/Electronics Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Practical Nursing and Pharmacy Technology.
Students received the following honors at the ceremony.
