Mr. James Douglas O’Ferrell (Buddy), age 83 passed away Tuesday, May 20.
Buddy was a truck driver for many years. After retirement he worked with Steve Lawson. He loved horses and especially his dogs Peanut and Pumpkin.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Friday, May 23 at Cope-Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family received friends one hour prior to services. Burial followed in Welcome Cemetery. Bro. Zack Campbell will officiate with Cope-Keahey Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include, sons, Steve O’Ferrell (Lesley) of Defuniak Springs, Florida and James Douglas O’Ferrell Jr. (Stacey) of McKenzie; brother, Robert Wayne O’Ferrell of Elba; sisters, Katherine Milton of Lowndesboro and Sybil Bradfield of Sisterville, West Virginia; grandchildren, Josh O’Ferrell, Andrew O’Ferrell and Bailey Ann O’Ferrell along with numerous great grandchildren and many special close friends.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Cook O’Ferrell; parents, James Curtis O’Ferrell and Brownie Aarons O’Ferrell and sister, Jeanette Griffin.
Serving as pallbearers were Steve Brown, Blake Brown, Cody Murphy, Steve Lawson, Steve Faust and Skip Bradfield. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Donald Booker, Douglas Bennett and Charles Bennett.
