Barbara Faye Page Holland passed away on May 8 after a brief illness.

She was born to EJ and Edith Page on Sept. 27, 1944, in Forest Home. Barbara graduated from Greenville High School and later earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Troy University. While at Troy, she met Reece Holland, and they were married on July 22, 1965. After starting her family, Barbara returned to school and earned her master’s degree at the Auburn University campus in Montgomery. 

Barbara’s teaching career spanned over 29 years, during which she was a respected educator at Andalusia Elementary, Samson Elementary, and WO Palmer Elementary in Greenville, Alabama. Barbara was also a Dozier United Methodist Church member in Dozier.

Services for Barbara were held at 2 p.m. on May 11 at Dunklin Funeral Home in Greenville, and she was laid to rest in Forest Home Cemetery beside her parents. Services were officiated by John Forman and Wesley Jeffcoat, both long-lasting friends of the family, including a song by Randall Holland. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, EJ and Edith Page. Barbara is survived by her husband of 60 years, Reece Holland; her sons, Chet (Carrie) Holland of Donalsonville, Georgia, and Stuart (Tracey) Holland of Virginia Beach, Virginia and her grandchildren, Abigail (Alex) O’Connell, Hezekiah Holland, Thomas Johnson, Lizzie Holland and Chloe Holland. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the Dozier United Methodist Church Benevolence Fund.
