The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce has officially received the Alabama Accredited Chamber of Commerce (AACC) designation, joining a select group of chambers recognized for excellence across the state.
The honor was presented at the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama’s Night of Champions banquet, held recently at The Graduate in Auburn.
“The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce is a 400 plus member-driven organization whose mission is to promote and facilitate the growth of the business community for our members and we work hard to ensure that we promote each and every one of our members in the most positive, professional manner possible,” said Tracy Salter, executive director of the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team, as well as the continued support of our members and community partners.”
The AACC program, launched in 2016 by the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama (Alabama Chambers), recognizes chambers that meet rigorous benchmarks in six categories: Organization, Mission Focus, Professional Administration, Financial Management, Communications and Advocacy. The program aims to raise public awareness about the role chambers play in economic development and business advocacy.
“We are honored to receive this accreditation from the Alabama Chamber of Commerce Association,” said David Norrell, President of the Greenville Chamber’s Board of Directors. “We’re excited and proud that we were able to meet each of the criteria standards. Our staff, board of directors and overall organization works extremely hard for the betterment of our membership and overall community and we are honored to display the AACC designation logo.”
This year, ten chambers were recognized—six renewing their accreditation and four earning the designation for the first time.
“The accreditation process is both comprehensive and rigorous, serving as a testament to the exceptional caliber of each chamber that attains this recognition,” said Anna Hovey, chairwoman of Alabama Chambers. “Attainment of the AACC designation affirms to the community and its members that the chamber upholds the highest standards of professionalism, thereby reinforcing the legitimacy of their trust and continued investment.”
Founded in 1937, the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama has long supported the development of chambers statewide. Through a partnership with the Business Council of Alabama, the organization represents the interests of more than a million working Alabamians.
