This world will fade away. There are many things in this life that will disappoint: people, jobs, even your health.
No matter where you are in your Christian walk, take time to read and study God’s Word. Form a strong foundation that will last throughout eternity.
As you grow, ask yourself: What is the purpose of life? To graduate, to get a great job, to make lots of money, and to live life to the fullest?
That is not truly living. The things of this world will not last forever and will only bring short-term enjoyment.
You will certainly face challenges and hardships. Yet if you stay in the Word of God, you will learn that success and happiness are not built on the things of this life. They are built on God’s truth.
Live a life that loves and trusts in the resurrected Lord, which leads to a life of purpose and fulfillment. As you celebrate this significant milestone, we at Camp Ground and Rutledge Global Methodist Churches celebrate with you. May you continue to grow in faith as you serve others and keep God first.
Dunford Cole is presiding elder, Six Rivers and Midpoint District and pastor of Camp Ground/Rutledge Methodist Church.
