Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

By Dunford Cole

As we get ready to celebrate this wonderful Easter weekend, I want to take a moment to reflect on the significance of this time. It centers on the incredible sacrifice our Lord Jesus made for each of us.

On Holy Thursday, we receive the command from our Savior to love one another, as well as the institution of the Lord’s Supper, even as He faces betrayal. Then on Friday, we witness our Savior standing before Pontius Pilate, sentenced to death and crucified on a cross.

We see Him die and laid to rest in a tomb, but in just three days, we rejoice in the glorious resurrection! This is the essence of who we are as Easter people — Christ came to seek out sinners and reconcile us to our Heavenly Father.

I pray that you and your family experience a blessed Easter as you gather in worship and deepen your understanding of Christ’s sacrifice for us, even while we were still sinners. From all of us at Camp Ground and Rutledge Global Methodist Churches, we wish you a joyful and blessed Easter.
