A group of local businesses is coming together for a morning of fashion and family-friendly fun at the Don’t Miss Fashion Show and Showcase on Saturday, April 5, at Few Street Park beside Johnson Furniture.
One of the local shops participating in the event is Not the Norm Boutique. The shop’s owner, Bethany Norman, explained how the fashion show came together.
“Nancy Idland at The Curio reached out to me with the suggestion and we’ve been working together to pull this off,” Norman said. “We just wanted to do something fun for the community. We recently launched our children’s line, so all of the models will be local kids.”
The event will run from 10 a.m. to noon, with a fashion show starting at 10:30 a.m. sharp. It will feature spring styles from several local vendors including Not the Norm Boutique, Sitting Pretty Boutique and Milli and Magnolia, while The Curio will showcase seasonal home décor.
“[The show] will feature spring attire from Not the Norm, Sitting Pretty and Millie and Magnolia,” said Idland. “The Curio is hopping into the fun with some spring decor.”
David Norrell, co-host of the Kyle and Dave Morning Show, will emcee the event, introducing the runway models and keeping the crowd entertained throughout the morning. Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Easter Bunny will make a special appearance, giving families a chance for photos and holiday fun.
In addition to the fashion show, visitors can enjoy face painting, light refreshments and local merchandise for sale. Alison Edwards will also be selling sugar cookie kits, perfect for a sweet take-home activity.
All of the fashion pieces featured during the show will be available for purchase, giving attendees a chance to take home their favorite looks.
The event offers a chance for the community to support small businesses while enjoying a festive start to the spring season.
