Lawson State Community College has announced that a Greenville native was named to its Dean’s List for the fall 2024 semester.

Nyeashia Thomas, a graduate of Georgiana School, was among 226 students named to the college’s dean’s list, attaining a grade point average of 3.5 with minimum course load of not fewer than 12 semester hours of college-level course work.

The basketball standout, who played for the Panthers during her high school career, also plays basketball at Lawson State as part of the Lady Cougars who are 20-12 on the season.

Lawson State Community College provides students with educational opportunities at two campuses located in Bessemer and Birmingham. With two main divisions — an academic division and a career/technical division, the college prepares students for employment and career advancement through comprehensive offerings including college transfer, workforce development, adult education and dual enrollment programs.
