Authorities are investigating the death of a white male after a body was found inside a vehicle on Shows Road in Georgiana. The deceased was discovered Wednesday afternoon, March 12. Butler County Sheriff David Scruggs confirmed the discovery and said that the preliminary cause of death appears to be an overdose.

“This is an ongoing investigation,” Scruggs said. “We have sent the body to the forensic science lab in Montgomery for an autopsy to figure out the cause of death.”
