The Butler County Historical & Genealogical Society (BCHGS) Executive Board gathered on Feb.18, to outline plans for the year ahead, including special programs and events. The meeting also introduced new Executive Board Members Al Gaston and Johnny Autrey, along with recently elected officers: President Pamala Nolan and Vice President Melanie Pitts Stonestreet. Martha Grimes Lampkin will continue her role as social media manager, serving as an ex-officio board member.
“We are so pleased to have Al and Johnny join us on the Executive Board,” Nolan said. “Al is a longtime member and genealogist and Johnny is a past president of the organization.”
The addition of new leadership brings a fresh perspective to BCHGS, with Stonestreet offering several innovative programming ideas.
“We’ve got most of Butler County covered geographically by our board members,” Nolan said. “We really want all sections of our county to feel included in our activities.”
The organization’s quarterly meetings in 2025 will be held on the last Sunday of April, July and October. Special events will be shared in the BCHGS Quarterly and on social media. For more information, email butlercoalhistory@gmail.com or follow BCHGS on social media.
