The Butler County Association of Volunteer Fire departments would like to thank Central Volunteer Fire Department (VFD), M&D VFD, Liberty VFD, Forest Home VFD and Searcy VFD for allowing their firefighters to attend the Alabama Forestry 130 and 190 classes. The courses will help keep firefighters updated on training for communities that they serve.

Association officers extend a special thank you to Central VFD for hosting the class and to the Butler County Sheriff’s Posse for donating the food that was served during the four-night sessions. Also, thanks to the Alabama Forestry Commission for teaching this class, as continuing education is part of all VFD responsibilities for their firefighters.

The Butler County Association of Volunteer Fire Departments will be hosting other training throughout the year and hope to have more attendance from other departments. If you are looking to help your local volunteer fire department please, see the department in your area. They are always looking for help.
