Pioneer Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round Up Foundation awarded a grant to the Greenville Fire Department recently to aid in the purchase of safety equipment.
“We are proud to support the Greenville Fire Department through Operation Round Up,” Christi Scruggs, Pioneer Electric’s vice president of marketing and communications. “This grant is an investment in the safety of our local heroes who work tirelessly to protect the lives and property of our members. We’re grateful to our members whose contributions make these important projects possible.”
The department’s grant will go toward the purchase of high-quality, safety-compliant boots and helmets that will enhance firefighter protection during emergency response efforts. The funding will ensure local first responders have the latest personal protective equipment to safely serve the community.
Pioneer Electric is committed to helping strengthen the local community through programs like Operation Round Up, which has made a significant impact by funding projects that improve safety, education and quality of life in the area.
The Operation Round Up program is funded by the generous donations of Pioneer Electric members who voluntarily round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar. Since the program’s inception in 2021, more than $300,000 has been donated to individuals in need and local organizations that serve our area.
