On Valentine’s Day, two locally owned and operated businesses will be collaborating to host an event called “For the Love of Locals Night Out” for Georgiana residents with tickets just under $100.

Mary Ruth’s Restaurant will provide a dinner for two, and the Georgiana Opry House will be organizing a concert for the event.

“We were just thinking [something was needed], especially for some of the older or younger couples that don’t have the means to drive to Montgomery, go to Mobile or even to do something for Valentines Day. So we wanted to offer our locals something really special they can do with their partner during Valentine’s Day, because we love our locals and we wanted to do something for our community” said Tracy Eason, the GA-ANA Opry House executive director. “It’s two individual things, but together a couple could do a dinner and a show for $90.”

At Mary Ruth’s Restaurant, customers can order their Dinner for Two, which includes the choice of a Ribeye steak or grilled salmon with six grilled or fried shrimp, two sides and drinks.

Dinner starts at 5 p.m. and costs $45 for the two meals. Reservations are open for the restaurant during the event.

“It’s always great to have to family and friends to come together, especially when there is a holiday,” said Marvin Roper, owner of Mary Ruth’s Restaurant. “We’re excited for everyone to come dine and listen to music with a loved one in Georgiana, Alabama.”

The Georgiana Opry House will host two artists performing in a live concert. The performers include country singer and songwriter Bobby G. Rice, and country singer AJ Robinson from Columbus, Georgia. There will also be a meet and greet following the show.

Doors open for the concert at 6 p.m. and the concert starts at 7 p.m. Tickets for the event are $25 for a single and $45 for couple tickets.

“Our vision is to support young, upcoming, independent artists and AJ fits that category all the way around; he’s got videos and TikToks that have upwards of 96,000 views, he’s a songwriter. He started writing songs young – 10-12 years old – and we want to support him in that,” Easton said. “Bobby G. Rice, though he was at a major label back in the 70s, is also now an independent artist.”
