On Oct. 19, the Butler County Civic League hosted its annual fall banquet with the theme, “Freedom: Let Your Voice be Heard.” Civic League member and event organizer Tiffany Hickman served as Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening, which included an invocation from Evangelist Cynthia Green and a musical selection.
Carlton Cook, League Chairman, welcomed attendees with opening remarks.
The event featured a catered dinner for all in attendance, including Greenville Mayor Dexter McLendon, representatives from the Butler County Commission and members of the Butler County Board of Education.
Senator Robert Stewart served as the guest speaker, discussing the importance of civic engagement.
“The theme is ‘Freedom: Let Your Voice be Heard,'” Stewart stated. “I hope that the audience is inspired to be involved in elections and to encourage others to let their voices be heard in this and all elections.”
After dinner, several door prizes were handed out, made possible through donations from local residents and businesses.
