Georgia takes on JF Shields and Red Level

The Georgiana varsity boys and varsity girls basketball teams narrowly defeated JF Shields on the road during Friday’s game.

The varsity boys team won with a final score of 52-50

Zach Boggan had a double double and led the team with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Josh Sims scored 10 points for the team.

Tremari Longmire scored 11 points with 10 rebounds and five steals. Longmire also scored the game winning shot with three seconds left in the game.

Following their win, the varsity boys sit at 11-5 for the season with a 2-0 record for area play.

The varsity girls won their game with a final score of 58-56.

Angel Haynes led the team scoring 21 points for the Panthers.

Lillie Boggan scored 17 points for the team with seven assists.

With the win, the varsity girls sit at 7-5 for the season with a 2-0 record for area play.

Following their win on the road the Panthers returned home to host the Red Level Tigers.

The varsity boys took a loss with a final score of 66-55.

Amari Feagin had a double double and led the team with 20 points and 13 rebounds.

After the loss the varsity boys sit at 11-6 for the season with a 2-1 record for area play.

The varsity girls, however, managed to defeat Red Level 75-57.

Angel Haynes led the team scoring 30 points throughout the game’s four quarters.

Lillie Boggan scored 20 points while Alexa Bess scored 14 points with 11 rebounds.

Following their win, the varsity sits at 8-5 for the season with a 3-0 record for area play.

Georgiana will face JF Shields at home this Friday.
