Eagles beat Meadowview on hardwood

The Fort Dale Academy Eagles Varsity Boys basketball team beat the Meadowview Christian Trojans 50-29.

The Eagles managed thirteen points in the first period, sixteen in the second period, four in the third, and 17 in the fourth period.

Starters for the Eagles were Clay Benson, Ethan Alford, Sawyer Fossett, Ty Carter, and Andy Seo.

Benson was the lead scorer for the Eagles with 17 points and nine rebounds, followed by Brady Long with 11 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

Alford scored 10 points with one rebound and three assists.

Lance McInvale scored six points with two rebounds and one steal.

Fossett scored four points with two rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

Joseph Ealum scored two points with one rebound and three assists.

Both the varsity boys and girls started their respective seasons off against Edgewood Academy during the Hooper Academy Thanksgiving Classic tournament.

The boys took home a close 57-56 victory while the girls took home an impressive 74-51 win.

In the next round of the tournament, the boys suffered a 62-31 loss to Autauga Academy. The varsity girls beat Autauga in their matchup 73-19.

With the loss, the varsity boys sit at a 2-1 record while the varsity girls are undefeated.

The Eagles will be on the road this Thursday to face off against Edgewood Academy.

The Eagles will play in their first home game of the season on Monday, December 6.
