Eagles beat Coosa Rebels

The Fort Dale Eagles beat the Coosa Valley Rebels in a non-region away game on Friday.

Each team possessed the ball once during the first quarter, but neither scored.

The Eagles drew first blood in the second quarter, with Ethan Alford putting six points on the board after a six-yard run. Fort Dale then led 7-0

By halftime, the Eagles were leading 7-0.

In the third quarter, the Eagles Sam Bloodworth put six additional points on the board after making a 20-yard run for the touchdown.

Alan Alvarez made the kick for the extra point but was injured by the Rebels defense. Andy Seo then replaced Alverez and completed the extra point.

Fort Dale led 14-0 with seven minutes left in the third quarter.

Alverez returned to the field for the kickoff to Coosa. Alverez recovered his onside kick at the Rebels 32-yard line.

The Eagles attempted to rush the ball for another touchdown, but Coosa intercepted at the five-yard line. However, the Coosa Rebels were unable to score.

Coosa Valley was able to shorten the Eagles lead after securing a touchdown halfway through the fourth. Coosa then failed to secure the extra point.

The Fort Dale Eagles had excellent field position most of the night. There were several missed opportunities with both teams. The game was penalty heavy on both sides.

The Eagles successfully held off the Rebels offense to secure the win.

The Eagles will play against Sparta Academy this Friday.
