Brenda Carol Burkett, 59, of Greenville passed away on Tuesday, September 14, in Evergreen.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 25th, at Brushey Creek Baptist Church beginning at 11 a.m.

Burkett is survived by her parents Barley Newton and Shirley O’Connor (James Earl); siblings Vickie Clark, Bo Newton, and LeAnn Parker (Willis); nieces and nephews Ben Newton (Abigail), Tyler Clark (Holly), BreAnna Clark, Madeline Newton, Brantley Newton, Brett Armstrong and Willis Parker Jr.; great niece Clara Mae Newton; great nephew Hudson Ray Clark; special friend Buzzy Wrench; special Aunt Joan O’Connor; and many cousins and friends.

Her husband Wetzell Burkett, step-mother Patricia Newton, brother Curtis Newton, and grandparents Carson and Juanita O’Connor, Luther and Eloise Newton, and Mabel and Early Bell preceded her in death.

Burkett was a  member of Brushey Creek Baptist Church.

Burkett enjoyed going to the beach. She loved cooking, crafts, and watching NASCAR and Alabama Football.
