City Council Meetings back at City Hall
Things are back to normal for the Greenville City Council as the most recent meeting was held at City Hall. Meetings were previously forced to be held in Beeland Park to better adhere to local COVID-19 regulations.
During the meeting, the council approved an ordinance granting a non-exclusive cable and communication franchise to Camellia Communications which would allow them to construct, install, operate, maintain, repair, and dismantle a communications system for the purpose of transmission and distribution of cable services, and other communications services, to the inhabitants of the city.
In other business the council:
- Approved a resolution authorizing the mayor to renew a contract with Lamar Advertising for the purpose of maintaining use of an advertising billboard on Interstate 65 to use as an incentive when landing new businesses in the city or to advertise local events
- Approved a resolution authorizing the city to enter into a 20-year lease agreement with Compass Signs for the replacement of a digital and vinyl billboard on YMCA property owned by Greenville on Interstate 65
