RMCCA holds vaccine clinic today at Fairgrounds

The Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama held a COVID Vaccine Drive Thru Clinic yesterday.

According Regional Medical Center Director Amanda Salter said the clinic had an amazing turnout.

“We’ve administered about half of the 250 vaccines we had available within 45 minutes of opening,” she said.

The clinic, which occurred at the Butler County Fairgrounds, had people lining up as early as 6:30 a.m.

Those who received a vaccine at the clinic get their second dose at the drive thru clinic on March 2.

For those individuals who were unable to attend the clinic or arrived too late to get the vaccination, another drive thru clinic could be opening as early as next Monday.

Butler County has had 1,833 cases of COVID-19 since last March.

In the past 14 days, 122 people have tested positive with 861 people getting tested.

So far, 60 people have died from the virus.
