The Georgiana varsity boys and girls basketball teams won four of their six games this week.

Below is a recap of those games:

Saturday, January 23

Varsity Boys

The Georgiana varsity boys lost to Greenville with a final score of  58-88.

Azenda Pennington was the lead scorer for Georgiana with 11 points.

Varsity Girls

In addition to the boys, the Georgiana varsity girls lost to Greenville 60-70.

The lead scorers for Georgiana were

Alexea Bess and Tenasia Gordon led the team with 14 points each.

Taylissicia Blackmon scored 11 points.

Monday, January 25

The Varsity Boys narrowly defeated Opp 76-73 during Senior Night.

Before Georgiana’s win, Opp was previously unbeaten.

Azenda Pennington and Amari Feagin managed a double-double.

Pennigton led the team with 29 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, and five steals.

Feagin scored 15 points with 13 rebounds.

Nacardyen Ball scored 13 points for the team while Zach Boggan scored 11 points.

Furthermore, the varsity girls defeated Opp with a final score of 58-32.

Tenasia Gordon led the team with 24 points

Tuesday, January 26

The Georgiana varsity boys defeated McKenzie 78-44.

Amari Feagin led the team with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 blocks.

Torey Walker scored 11 points and Tremari Longmire scored ten.

The Georgiana varsity girls were supposed to play but their opponent could not make the game.

As a result, the Georgiana varsity girls won by forfeit.
