The Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office has turned an investigation into a fatal shooting over to the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation.

Sheriff Terry Mears confirmed that one person is dead and two others were taken into custody after a shooting in Dozier Friday night around 10 p.m. One of the suspects has since been released.

Mears said his department requested an investigation from SBI, and once the investigation is complete, SBI will submit its finding to District Attorney Charlotte Tesmer.

Mears did not release the names of the victim or any suspects in the case since the incident has been turned over to SBI.
