The local adult daycare is in need of donations to help continue its food delivery programs for program participants.

Kim Stallings, director of the non-profit, said funding is limited for them due to the pandemic.

“We get funding from the state and we have lost some of it due to losing some of our clients,” she said. “DHR won’t let us add any clients right now because our doors aren’t open.”

However, just because their doors aren’t open doesn’t mean Stallings and her employees are not currently working to help their clients.

“We are currently delivering our meals to our clients’ homes,” she said. “We give them one meal and a snack per day.”

Stallings said its difficult for them to utilize state funding currently because the state requirements are not feasible.

“We are trying to get donations to continue what we are doing,” she said. “We have 27 clients a day, but we can have 39. Our clients have to meet a certain eligibility to be on the roll.”

Stallings said that it takes about $1,000 to feed her clients each month.

Those who would like to donate may mail a check to 4122 Quail Tower Road, Luverne AL 36049 or Venmo at Kimstall1.
