The Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office has worked two log truck accidents in the last two weeks.

Sheriff Terry Mears said both incidents occurred in the early morning hours.

“Luckily, no one was injured in the accidents,” he said.

Mears said that both accidents forced law enforcement officials to shutdown portions of the road way for at least 45 minutes to an hour.

The first incident occurred on Nov. 16, in the sharp curve in Glenwood, he said. There was entrapment in that incident, but the driver of the log truck only sustained a few bumps and bruises.

Powerlines were pulled down in that incident and logs scattered in the curve.

Mears said the second incident occurred Monday morning on Magnolia Shores Drive.

ALEA, the sheriff’s office and Highland Home Fire Department responded to the rollover.

“Since we have had two log truck incidents in two weeks, I would like to remind our log truck drivers need to be more safety conscious,” he said. “They need to exercise caution all the time, but especially in the early morning hours.”
